ACLS & PALS Instructor Initial

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor- Initial

Instructor Essentials Course is taught in a blended learning format. AHA BLS Instructor candidates must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on session conducted by BLS Training Center Faculty. Below are faculty and instructor candidate materials for teaching this course:


Pre-requisites are:

  • You must be a Current ACLS and/or PALS Provder with a current card
  • You can either become an ACLS instructor or a PALS instructor or Both with this course.  You need to have a current provider card for each discipline and bring it with you to class.

Instructor Certification is valid for 2 years.  There is an additional Training Center Alignment Fee of $40 (fee includes your instructor card).  This fee is paid after you are monitored teaching during your first class and all of your instructor paperwork is complete.  Look here to find the next steps after your instructor course.


This instructor initial course will prepare individuals to teach ACLS and PALS using American Heart Association Guidelines.  Following this course you will be able to teach students. 
This is a two day course.  Day one is an online instructor essentials course.  You will be able to select either the ACLS instructor essentials or the PALS essentials on the next page (these are marked optional as you only need to complete the essentials key  in the discipline you would like to teach, however one is required, please select the one or both you want).  It is required you complete this prior to coming to the instructor course.  Every instructor is required to have an instructor manual for the courses they teach.
In order to take this course:
  • Participants must have a current AHA Provider Card (no exceptions) - a copy will be required in class.
  • Participants must complete either the ACLS Essentials or PALS Essentials prior to coming to class.

DAY 1: Online course, an online key will be emailed to you following your registration.

DAY 2: Live in person class.  We will go over, Rosters, CPR cards for Students, Instructor Status, Materials you will need to teach, next steps, skills, how to teach an AHA class etc.  

*All INHS is completely Tobacco/smoke-free, both indoors and outdoors-for all employees, customers and patients.  This includes our parking areas and the vehicles parked there.  This covers all tobacco products including e-cigs and chewing tobacco, and extends to everyone - patients, visitors, employees, students and vendors.
