This Online EMT training course is a self-directed, interactive, distance learning course that is approved for NREMT and Washington certification. The course curriculum covers all EMT knowledge and skill requirements for the new EMT National Education Standards.
If you are a self-motivated student who enjoys being challenged then this is a great educational opportunity.
***Students MUST complete all of the online components of the course prior to beginning the in-person practical component. This course is 200 clock hours and allows for 132 online hours of student module time, 56 hours of in-person lab/skills time (students must complete required online content to attend) and one 12-hour shift in the prehospital setting where they will ride-along with an ambulance crew. The suggested start date to start your online portion of this class is a minimum of 15 weeks prior to the in-person skills. The first day listed is the required content completion date. The second date listed is the first day of the practical skills components. You must complete the entire online portion prior to the first day of the practical skills. Students are also required to complete one 12-hour shift on an ambulance. This shift will be arranged by INHS and must be completed between the first and last day of skills. Please make yourself available during the evenings and weekends during that time.
***STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO "ROLL-OVER" OR ENTER INTO THE NEXT SKILLS SESSION IF THEY DO NOT COMPLETE CONTENT IN TIME (7 business days prior to skills). INCOMPLETE CONTENT MAKES THE STUDENT INELIGIBLE TO ATTEND THEIR ASSIGNED SKILLS SESSIONS; STUDENTS WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE COURSE AND ASKED TO RE-ENROLL IF THEY WISH TO COMPLETE THE COURSE.
Upon successful completion of both components of this course a student will be authorized to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Cognitive examination. After successful completion of the examination the student will be awarded NREMT EMT Certification.
